I haven't tried this yet, but just came across it today at

I really miss corn bread, oh and hush puppies too! So I might have to experiment with cream of wheat! wink.gif

Cream Of Wheat Corn Bread
1/2 c. Cream of Wheat
1/2 c. self rising flour
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1/2 pkg. Sweet and Low (opt.)
1 egg white
1/4 c. milk

Mix together Cream of Wheat and flour. Add oil, Sweet and Low, egg white, and milk; mix. Bake as you would any corn bread. Makes a small pan. Can be doubled.
Cream of wheat isn't legal. Sorry.

Nor is self-rising flour, for that matter. I don't think there's such a thing as self-rising stone ground whole wheat flour, but I'm sure somebody will know.
Have you tried the pan bread I posted a while back. It is pretty close to cornbread. It's really good with a pot of beans!
