1/4 cup butter
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp red pepper
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp chili powder
3/4 Tbs dry mustard
2 Tbs vinegar
1/2 tsp tobasco
1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup water
1 Tbs chopped onion
1 clove garlic
Mix in measuring cup, microwave until it boils, let it sit 5 minutes, microwave again until it boils again. Paint liberally on chicken before cooking and before and after turning on the grill, usually about three times.
For use in the oven: brown the chicken in the butter, increase water to 1 cup, pour over chicken and bake at 325° for 1 hour.
This sauce is very thin, and not sticky. It does have a little zip, decrease the red pepper and tobasco if it's too hot for your taste.
I also use this sauce on pork, particularly country ribs.
