2 lbs short ribs -- lean
Salt to taste
1 onion -- diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 large can tomatoes
1 large can sauerkraut
about 1 1/2 cans water (use one of the
above cans)
Sweetener to taste (I use about a Tbsp of Agave Syrup but you can use Brown Sugar Twin or Splenda. You just want enough to smooth out the acidity of the tomatoes and sauerkraut.)

Brown the short ribs with onion & garlic; add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer and cook about 3 hours.

You can also do this in the crockpot after you brown the ribs.
